Chad: 00:05 So we're getting a lot of questions regarding the proper way to live life in ketosis. We have you covered in our midweek mini series called Sunday Supps. Every Sunday we have a quick supplemental episode where we answer your questions on all things Keto. So our question today comes from Vanessa and Vanessa asks, so I'm wondering about going off keto around Christmas and I guess just scaling out in general, are there different degrees of scaling out? Is there a difference if I just eat a few cheat items versus eating whatever I want, is there a difference in how I feel and how difficult it will be to get back into ketosis? Or is it more once you're out you're out of Ketosis and does it matter how far out you are? A lot of questions Vanessa really wants to know what she can and can't eat. I think it's a great question. I've, I've often wondered the same thing myself, but what, what do you say Eric is? Is there different degrees of scaling out? Is it just once you're, once you eat one, one cheating, you're gone, or kind of talk a little bit about that.

Eric: 01:11 In scaling out and, and that's really a good question because I've coached over a hundred per 100, you know, people in scaling out and I see everybody sends me, you know, what their numbers are, their blood sugar in there and their ketones and my wife would always say, hey, either go big or go home and that's all she uses, when scales out add. And I have learned from coaching and myself that there is degrees of scaling out and everybody's different now. Okay. I seen people who just blow it completely why I'm out and might as well just go for it. Okay. Which I'm, I, I have done that and you know, I have to be honest, I have done that, but I, I don't like bringing in the glucose. I don't like raising my blood sugar and my insulin. I don't want to create any issues there of course. But in scaling back in, if I, if I go out pretty strong, uh, it, if I, if I don't fast my way back in it, it'll take me a day or two to get back in. But if you just go out just a little bit like a lot of my clients have, or would they just have a piece of pie or whatever. Then usually the next day they're back in and I. If you're really insulin sensitive and being in Ketosis for a longer period of time, obviously it increases your insulin sensitivity. So those who go out now, client spending over a couple of years , I'm amazed at what they ate when I look a really scaled out. And then also the next day they're showing one point, two millimoles and I'm like, wow, that's impressive. You really have become keto adapted and insulin sensitive. So basically you'll learn on how you do it and when you test next day you're your Beta, you're say, oh my gosh, I'm not even back in. Yeah. So I learned by experience and so I, I personally, you know, I don't like the go big or go home, but that's up to each individual. My wife ignores me, she'll, you know, she wants to go big or go home. She'll do it as she should. That's right. It's her, it's her, it's her decision now. We now. What have you done when you scale out? Have you.

Chad: 03:29 It's all. Oh, all the way. I just go for it. Yeah, and then you're back in what? A day or two or you write easily. Especially if I fast. If I don't fast, it's a couple of days, but yeah, I'm all out.

Eric: 03:44 But it's amazing that how am I the coach that they fast their way back in mainly because they feel like crap. Oh, that's totally me. Yeah. Especially the times when I feel terrible. I'm like, I have got to cleanse myself. That's what it is. It's like, ah, I gotta get my body a break is. I mean, you've really just kicked in. Your body's not adapt to it. Your brain saying, oh my gosh, we got all this glucose now where's the Beta? You know, it has to adjust. I mean, that's why you feel so. You know, brain. Yes. She just don't.

Chad: 04:17 And I've, I've started scaling out less and less and it's got to really be an occasion, like a Thanksgiving or Christmas or on Easter because I just, I just hate it. I just feel like crap and I'm just like, what, what's

Eric: 04:34 the famous words that wasn't worth it? And you know, and that's the same thing I take my wife, my ex wife said after every child, never again, but it goes, here we are again in my wife always says that, you know, you say that every time that wasn't worth it later, like you said, it's basically you're just not worth it, so you just don't scale out unless it's really, you know, like Christmas or Thanksgiving, you know? And, and, and I, and I plan to scale out on Christmas Day. I do it mainly because we're going out to dinner.
