Chad: 00:05 So we're getting a lot of questions regarding the proper way to live life in ketosis. We have you covered in our midweek mini series called Sunday Supps every Sunday we have a quick supplemental episode where we answer your questions on all things Keto. So our question today comes from Taylor and Taylor asks, I'm thinking of getting started on Keto, but wondering if you would recommend waiting until after the holidays. I'm worried that if it takes a while to get into Ketosis, I could potentially mess it up by scaling out for a day or two around Christmas or do I or do you think I should stop waiting and just go for it? Good question. That is a great question. What a tough time of the year it to try to start.

Eric: 00:45 Well, Taylor, I coach quite a few. Um, and I, my recommendation would be enjoy your holidays and wait. Yes, for sure. Because you know, you're, you're actually changing your, your, your, your brain functioning, your muscle function, heart function, everything's changing to adapt to be a fatty acid burner now. And of course a fatty acid converter to ketones. And you're going to adapt to utilizing those in the brain especially, and of course in the muscle. So let's, let's get that solid before all of a sudden you know you're going to trick your brain for sure. And your body, your liver glycogen storage, everything is going to say, oh wait, what? What are you doing now? You throw in Glucose back into me. Meanwhile you, your brain is really starting to adapt in that two, three week period. So I would definitely wait until after January first for sure. Yeah. Feel lethargic and, and you know, all that kind of stuff for the next three weeks. Go ahead and get more insulin resistance and all that stuff for the next three weeks. Don't crazy on your carbs, which you've probably not, but just enjoy the holidays with your family and everything. And I would definitely start afterwards because it's real. I really pushed people hard the first 30 days just to be really strict. keto. Even a little longer than that because some people like to scale up, you know, one day, you know, a month or two. Um, I have nothing wrong with that. And I'll do the science behind it, but definitely lock yourself in and get that Beta flowing and get your body adapted to it. And, and, and you don't want to go keto right now in your way. Nope. Nothing. You know, we're all keto, but you know, the holidays is nice to spend with family and enjoy, like you said, a couple of days of scaling out.

Chad: 02:40 So yeah, you don't have to be that one at the Christmas party. That's like, I started a diet three weeks ago. Everybody's like, oh, give me a break. Not a diet. Lifestyle change. I know, I know. I know. It's too bad that that word has been tainted though, because diet literally means the with what we eat. I know, but it's funny how people. Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure. And I'll just say this, to taylor this time of year is really rough for Eric. These are the weeks that he cries himself to sleep after he reviews his clients macros. So you don't need to add to his collective sadness, but.

Eric: 03:23 No. But you know what was strange on Thanksgiving, I actually felt guilty. I scaled out for a couple of days and most of my clients did not. Hello? Yeah. That was like, wow. That was a smack down for me. I was like, oh, that was. It was awesome. I'm like, wait everyone. I opened up. Oh, come on, let me show you the carbs. We're hoping you're in a good company. Like, Oh crap. Let me go the next year. I think everybody except for one or two, one or two scale that everybody else stayed in. That's too good. Yeah, that was good. That's awesome.
